Another Monday, another morning of "not waking up before 10am". Genuinely don't know what is up with my sleep lately.

Good to know that this isn't really impacting my work, though. I feel way less bad about logging on late than I did when I was in the US. Most people still aren't really online fully by the time even if I log on at 9am.

Internet crapped out on me at the end of my work day. A sign to log off! Seems like it's a wider thing here but no one is really talking about it online...

Went to sleep a bit late last night but woke up at a decent time this morning.

Laptop still won't connect to the internet, so I guess I get to do a ton of troubleshooting instead of working??? 🙃

Have to keep rebooting the router and Rhys is annoyed because it's affecting him and I'm like "dude I'm supposed to be working rn it's affecting me too."

Teenagers. 🙄

After two hours of restarting things and nearly pulling my hair out, I discover there's a repeater in the apartment that also needs to be rebooted when the main router needs to be. 😭 Finally got to working, conveniently after the meeting I had scheduled for today...

At the end of the day, Rhys came out to watch one of our Overwatch streamers with us and cuddled with me on the couch. He was definitely having a Big Feelings™️ day and I'm just glad that he's still comfortable enough with us to cuddle when he's in that mood.

Holy hot day, batman! It hit 33 C here. I slept in today because a) I went to bed late since we were watching a streamer with Rhys and b) today is beta release day and that makes it one of the few Long Days of work for the month.

This particular long day had me up until 2am. 🙃

Today is all meetings. I don't even really know how that happened. But I didn't get much "real" work done today. That's mostly fine because I'm caught up at work on important things and meeting with people is good.

Got my utilities set up for the new house. Just two more days until we leave Den Haag!❗️

Decided to take a half day today to start cleaning and packing up the apartment more seriously. Have a couple meetings I need to get through before my long weekend.

Found out that I might not have internet or electricity in the new house until Wednesday at the earliest. We have our hardware for internet delivered to our neighbor's, but the technician appointment is for Thursday. We think that's just to ensure the stuff is set up properly and we're may not need it. But we do need electricity for it to work. 😅

Paid the deposit for the van we're renting to move our shit, and waiting for confirmation from IKEA that our stuff will be ready when we get in the area.

ALMOST DONE WITH MOVING FOR THE YEAR 🎉

Today is packing and cleaning a little, then driving for at least 2 hours.

There was a spot just a couple doors down from the apartment for the van. Took us about 2 hours to get everything packed up, it was like packing a hotel room lol.

Electricity and water at the new home seems to work, which is great because we weren't sure how that would shake up.

But we have no internet lol. No matter how many times I reset things, the self assisted walkthrough doesn't provide the options for fiber source I have, and none of the phone numbers we've found work. Our technician is still scheduled for Thursday next week. 🙃

Everyone is running off my hotspot right now. Definitely will not last.

Went to IKEA but never got notification for the order I made so I rescheduled the pick up for tomorrow. I grabbed a coffee cup because it's the important thing to have in the house (we also grabbed a few other random necessities). Then we ordered burgers at like 10pm because we last ate at 4pm and were starving. 😂

Today was a day of gathering things we need, so we travelled into Enschede itself to go to the Action, an Albert Heijn, and bribed Rhys with ice cream. Picked up our IKEA order and got the TV delivered.

Haven't had to restock a house in like 14 years, it's amazing how many little things you forget you use in your home.

Still no internet. We tried calling every number we could find. Gonna keep trying to get this sorted before Wednesday since I need the internet for work!!

Went to build Rhys' bed frame from IKEA and...I need tools (screwdrivers and a hammer). Guess this will be completed Tuesday - tomorrow is taking the van back to the company I rented it from and cleaning the last bits in the apartment.

Went for a walk this evening with the husband unit around the neighborhood. Found this "erratic boulder" situated in front of the church in the village center. Cannot wait to find more things like this in Lonneker. 😄

Next week it's supposed to be warm, but the house seems to be situated in a position that doesn't make it too hot - window covers and the way they are facing doesn't have heat too directly on the house. Except of course the attic, where Rhys has claimed for his room.

That child likes the heat, though, dunno where the fuck he got that from...

We actually have a working thermostat in the living room that tells us it's about 23 C - we'll see how that changes!
